Labour Rights Training for Women Workers in the Garment Industry
Between 1998 and 2000, Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA developed and ran a series of trade union training courses for 1,000 garment workers, mainly young rural women who had migrated to Phnom Penh, with 4 Cambodian union federations.
In 2003-2004, APHEDA developed and implemented a project on HIV/AIDS as a Union Issue in co-operation with the ILO Workers Education Project, and 7 Cambodian union federations covering over 800 workers in the garment, tobacco, construction, rubber, salt, restaurant and cleaning sectors.
