ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY IN PRACTICE

In order to put these policies into practice, Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA supports projects which provide knowledge and skills for ecologically sustainable development for individuals, and organisations or groups who are marginalised (including refugees). Recipients of Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA funding participate in the expression of their needs and rights in determining the quality of their environment.
This participation includes input relating to their access to the natural environment and to an environment which includes basic living standards and conditions including fresh water, adequate and suitable housing. In many projects, environmental strategies and activities are part of a wider group of strategies which assist a local community in addressing its needs and problems.
