Aceh: Health services in West Aceh
APHEDA is working with the Indonesian Nurses’ Association (PPNI) in South-West Aceh to provide 2 much-needed community health posts.
The health posts are located at schools in 2 villages, and supply basic health advice and treatment. Services include general medical check-ups and treatment, health checks for pregnant women, monthly immunisations, health and dental education packs to school children, and community health education programs. APHEDA has assisted through the provision of an ambulance, health training and education kits, medicines and salaries for the nurses. The community has responded well towards the health posts, and believe that the level of service and quality of medicine is higher than in other community health facilities. This project is funded by Volkshilfe Austria.
